Gov. Uzodimma Commended for Upgrading Alvan Ikeoku College of Education
The upgrading of Alvan Ikeoku College of Education to a Federal College of Education has been described as a remarkable achievements by the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.
The former member of the Governing Council of the College, Deacon T.N.J. Umunnakwe gave the commendation at a Ceremony, which honored eighty six Schools and nine hundred pupils and students of Private Schools in Imo State who participated in a quiz competition, organized by the National Association of Proprietor of Private Schools, in collaboration with Alphabet Publishers.
At the event held at the Imo State University Owerri recently, Deacon Umunnakwe eulogized Hope Uzodimma for doing so much in the Education Industry in the State, pointing out that the Alvan Ikeoku College of Education remains the beautiful bride of Education in the South East of Nigeria whose graduates have continued to make great marks in the various fields of human endeavors around the World.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the occasion, who is also the Provost of Alvan Ikeoku Federal University of Education, Dr. Stella Ngozi Lemchi congratulated the Awardees and thanked the Organizers of the event for a job well done.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor who is also the Director General, Imo State Orientation Agency, Sir Fidel Onyeneke promised to follow up some of the Awardees to help them realize their ambition and also to draw the attention of the Governor to the potential of the contest.
