Golden Heart Foundation Set to Hold 2019 National Youth Summit in Owerri

A humanitarian organization, Golden Heart Foundation, says it has concluded plans to organize National Youth Summit in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, gearing to imbue the youths with the spirit of productivity, ideas and skills to be able to assuage difficulties for improved living.

Interestingly, the National Youth Summit is billed to hold on Wednesday 23rd to Sunday 27th October, 2019, at the Imo International Conference Center, Owerri from 8am to 5pm daily.

Whereas, arrival and registration of delegates starts on Wednesday, 23rd October by 8am following a Concert and Rally on Friday, 25thOctober at the Cenotaph, Heroes Square, Owerri, by 8am till dawn.

Addressing journalists at the Rockview Hotels, Owerri, on Wednesday, Uzodinma Akalonu ( U-Zone), who is Head of Publicity (LOC, NYS, Owerri, 2019), said the summit is an annual event organized by the Golden Heart Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with the objective of equipping youths and emerging leaders for national renaissance and development, affirming that the summit which began 11years ago has spread across Africa, transforming people who are today giving back values to the society.

He reflected that “this year’s summit is the 11th edition and we are privileged to have it hosted here in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, which falls in line with the Rebuild Imo Project of Emeka Ihedioha led government.

” This is not the first time Imo is hosting the summit. It has been hosted in 2012. Participants were positively enriched”.

Akalonu identified the theme of the summit, “Entrepreneurship and Technology” as germane which promises better package to equipping youths with ideas to excel proficiently.

He Pointed out that Delegates will be coming from across the country to attend the summit, urging youths to take due advantage of the opportunity arriving to their doorstep to enhance their skills for better living.

The foundation hinted that there are certificate training schools to run during the summit which will be facilitated by seasoned professionals just as delegates can choose to attend any school they desire.

The schools are: Global School of Leadership; School of National Transformation; School of Social Entrepreneurship and Skill Acquisition; School of Career Development; School of Art and Entertainment, School of Media and ICT and School of Ministry, as admission into the summit is free, same applies to Concert and Rally with Certificate being issued to delegates after the exercise.

Akalonu, in the company of other members of the foundation, highlighted that the summit will freshen the abilities of youths on society good with them involving richly on entrepreneurship and technology which has added impetus to the development of many countries, saying the 2019 summit will train and equip youths on excellence and good leadership to be able to play major role to the continued edification of the society.

The foundation appreciates the Convener of the National Youth Summit, 2019, Rev Dr David Ogbueli who doubles as the President, Golden Heart Foundation and Dominion City Worldwide for bringing the humanitarian organization into Imo State, appreciating Pastor Ijedinma Nwankwo, Senior Pastor, Dominion City, Owerri and all members of the national and local Organizing Committees chaired by Mr Joshua Vaduchi who works productively for a successful youth seminar, 2019 for their efforts to grow the society positively.

The foundation while officially declaring the summit open, said it looks forward to effective participation to the summit by the youth to learn new ideas to strengthen resourcefulness and development.
