Enrolling My Children in Shekinah British International School Was One of My Best Decisions — Mrs Ngozi Osuji-Oforji

A parent of Shekinah British International School (SBIS), Ihiagwa, and a renowned banker, Mrs. Ngozi Osuji-Oforji, has described enrolling her children in the institution as one of the best decisions she has ever made, saying the school’s commitment to academic excellence, discipline and holistic child development has continued to justify her confidence.

Mrs. Osuji-Oforji made the remark on the sidelines of the school’s 2025/2026 Graduation, Speech and Prize-Giving Ceremony, held at the SBIS Multi-Purpose Hall, where students were celebrated for their outstanding academic achievements, exemplary character and leadership qualities.

She recalled that her relationship with the school began when she visited to make enquiries about admission for her first daughter and was impressed by the warm reception, professionalism and assurances she received from the school’s management, which convinced her to entrust the institution with her daughter’s education.

According to her, when it was time for her triplets to begin secondary education, they were only a little over nine years old, and although she initially considered them too young for boarding school, they successfully passed the school’s entrance examination, after which the management assured her that they would receive the necessary academic and pastoral support through a remedial programme.

“It was a difficult decision leaving my three children in boarding school at such a young age, but today I can proudly say it remains one of the best decisions I have ever made,” she said.

Mrs. Osuji-Oforji noted that the conducive learning environment, highly qualified teachers and strong moral values promoted by the institution have continued to distinguish it, adding that the consistent performance of its students in internal and external examinations is evidence of the quality education the school provides.

She maintained that educational excellence is not determined by whether a school is public or private but by the quality of its leadership, teachers and learning environment, adding that with proper supervision and enforcement of educational standards, more schools can deliver the kind of excellence and holistic development exemplified by Shekinah British International School.

She congratulated the graduating students on their achievements and encouraged them to remain focused, disciplined and committed to excellence, while commending the management of Shekinah British International School for sustaining an educational system that prepares students academically, morally and socially for future leadership.
