There is no doubt that the Ezeship crisis of Obi Royal Family of Ancient Emekuku autonomous community in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State will linger as the Magistrate Court sitting in Owerri has on Thursday adjourned the matter to December 13, 2022, for further hearing.

The Magistrate presiding over the matter, Stella Jeo, had ordered the lawyers of the plaintiff and the defendants including an official of the court to fix a date to go to the hospital to see whether or not the 3rd defendant in the suit is actually sick and hospitalized as stated by the defendants in a letter from the hospital submitted to the court on October 29, 2022.

Lawyers to the plaintiff and the defendants had agreed to obey the order of the court to fix a date to reach the said hospital for proof.

Earlier in the hearing, lawyer to the plaintiff had applied to the

court to issue a Bench Warrant to the 3rd defendant who he said has been consistently absent in the court due to ill – health, so that he can be arrested for contempt of court to which the defendants lawyer, Barr. Kenneth Uzoamaka, countered.
