Egere Reelected Into National Executive Of Nigerian Guild Of Editors …Anaba, Vanguard Editor; Ukeh, MD, Sun, Others Form New Executive

The 2025 Biennial national convention of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) held in Enugu has ended in grand style with a new executive to pilot the affairs of the professional body.

After the keenly contested election, Eze Anaba, the editor of Vanguard newspapers was returned unopposed as the president; Sabestine Abu, Ph.D, mni, editor, Nigerian Standard, Jos emerged as the deputy president; Onuoha Ukeh, the Managing Director of the Sun newspapers was elected as the new General- Secretary; Iyobosa Uwuegiaren Ph.D was elected as the Treasurer; Chinedu Max Egere was reelected as a member to represent East which comprises the South-East and South-South zones along with Ekpom Udom.

Juliet Bumah editor, New Telegraph, Olabisi Deji-Folutile Ph.D, and Rose Moses are members representing the West in the executive.

The convention was chaired by Mr Tony Momoh, the Chairman of Channels TV who is also a member of the Guild while the fathers of the day were Aremu Segun Osoba, a former governor of Ogun state and Onyema Ugochukwu, a former NDDC boss who are all members of the apex body of Nigerian media professionals.

The event was hosted by Dr Peter Mba, the governor of Enugu state.
