Dr Basilia Igbokwe Swinging into action for Progressive Leadership in FEDPOLYNEK
By Chinedu Max Egere…
On the day of her inauguration as the 9th substantive rector of the Federal Polytechnic,Nekede in a large hall on the campus that was filled to the brim,Dr Basilia Igbokwe boldly made statements that were full of hope.
Before her appointment, after the rigorous process to be at the helm of affairs of the federal institution, majority of her students and those who worked with her would not stop to testify to her academic prowess, administrative acumen and managerial skills.

Dr. Igbokwe
Hiccups and vicissitudes deliberately put in place through the tunnel of intrigues by some of those who were opposed to her appointment as the new rector would rather strengthen her given her rare antecedents.
Little wonder that she declared at the 1,500 capacity hall that she does not belong to any society but rather she is for all that have good ideas with her unflinching faith in God.
While her age-long open door policy would stand unshakable and never to be overwhelmed by any ‘damage mechanism’ factor adopted by those who are allergic to her progress- inclined steps, she would still remain impeccably disposed to welcoming good ideas from all quarters.

Good leadership with great impacts and excellent administration are in the glare and in the ambit of the Federal Polytechnic,Nekede having the quintessential lady in the forefront.
She had wondered why some self-help entrepreneurial ventures in the Federal Polytechnic would be left to go moribund irrespective of the huge revenues they would generate. She had asked why the table water factory; the tissue factory; the bakery; the fashion and catering home; the poultry; the fish farm and their rest of them would be carelessly left to waste in the Federal institution.
Dr Basilia Igbokwe is courageously set to begin actions to rejuvenate all of them for good.
The welfare of all in the Federal Polytechnic would be a sure bet as the federal institution would be filled with justice, fairness, effective communication and security apparatus to protect lives and property under her watch.
Her call for cooperation and commitment from all the members of the governing council, Management /staff and the students is for the purposes of achieving excellence.
Her anchore on zero tolerance for absenteeism and lackadaisical attitudes to work and to studies is meant to usher in global best practices.
In this circumstance therefore ,what would be required now, and permanently in her tenure is for all to shut down all factors of negativity, ignore all running down antics, drop all tricks and twists meant to destabilize the system and should rather join her wagon of love and progress to reposition the federal institution. Doing so would in effect mean that history and generations which are already favourable to her would accommodate such persons and their contributary roles to the awaiting successes for the betterment of the federal institution.
Words of encouragement and commendations from President Bola Tinubu, governor Hope Uzodimma and many others would add to her strength.
The presence of many dignitaries from the state and national sides would also contribute to her blueprint of achievements.
Let all join her in her noble pace of action to achieve success in Federal Polytechnic,Nekede.
I come in peace.
