Marking the day, the club members in their numbers paid a visit to the Owerri Correctional Centre to provide succor to the inmates with food items and toiletries, among other donations.
The Imo DNKI equally seized the opportunity to visit a sick member whom they noted as a devoted fellow hence the solidarity visit to give him as a sense of belonging.

Presenting the donations to the Owerri Correctional Centre management, the Imo State Govnor of DNKI, Barr.Bob Ekene noted that the humanitarian day celebration is aimed at alleviating the pains of about One thousand, three hundred and sixty-two (1,362) inmates at the facility as well as supporting the management in taking care of them hence urged them to distribute the items appropriately.
Barr. Ekene added that the humanitarian event is an annual program of DNKI to reach out to critical stakeholders where the club has always contributed to the development of society in areas of free blood donation, provision of palliatives to orphanage homes, and giving alms to the needy across boards, among others.

The Imo DNKI Govrnor, while recalling the clubs’ successful partnership with government agencies in line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) initiatives, commended the members for their overwhelming commitments.
Receiving the gift items from DNKI members at the Owerri Correctional Centre, the Management of the Centre represented by C.S Chimezie, commended DeNorsemen Klub for their good conduct, concern and resolve to reach out to the inmates at the facility as he prayed God to enlarge their coast.
Chimezie, however, assured the club members of the judicious sharing of the items to the inmates and charged other similar clubs to emulate DNKI style of reaching out to the Society.

This year’s celebration with the theme ” Random Act of Charity,” experienced peace across boards with far-reaching resolutions to better society, as members promised better CRS programmes going forward.
