It was as heated moment yesterday evening when yet to be identified hoodlums reportedly set the Imo State All Progressive Congress(APC) party Secretariat located at the Imo State University junction in the capital city, Owerri on fire.
An anonymous eye witness who spoke to NEWS-CORNER media crew said the hoodlums who were about six men in number rushly arrived the Secretariat in a white Toyota Sienna car and carried out the threat.
It was also gathered that the inferno affected only the internal parts of the the building and razed down properties worth millions of Naira.
The police department in Orji was quick to respond while the Commissioner for Public Safety, Mr Chidi Waturuocha in company of Fire Service Men arrived and fought the fire.
Good a thing, there was heavy downpour which further helped to arrest the situation.
It would be recalled that Imo polity has been heated up since the controversial APC Ward Congress done in the state last Saturday, 5th May, 2018 which is now defining another shade of politics and people’s participation in the electoral process.
