DISCLAIMER: Eze-in-Council Dissociates Self From Social Media Posts Over Eze Nwokocha’s Continued Detention
The Eze in council Umunneato Nguru autonomous Community in Aboh Mbaise, LGA of Imo state has dissociated itself from the social media posts by some individuals with regard to the continued detention of Eze Leo Nwokocha by the police.
The Cabinet members stressed this in a press release signed by the Chairman Eze-in-council Umunneato Nguru; Nze Cletus Okeagu, the Vice chairman, APC leader, Aboh Mbaise, and State Campaign Council member; Chief Charles Ogu and the cabinet Secretary; Oke Nze Jude Olelewe.
According to the press release: “Though in the Facebook posts, those individuals somehow called for the release of Eze Nwokocha who is our dear traditional ruler; the content of the Facebook posts do not represent the feelings and stand of the Umunneato autonomous community which comprises Okwu, Eziala and Egberede Nguru“
“We, want to make it clear that any write up or press release which represents the true feelings of Umunneato Autonomous community concerning this issue must emanate from the Eze-in-council”
The Council further stressed that any statement in the case that is not from the Eze-in-Council is unofficial and should be outrightly discarded.
It is true that our traditional ruler has been in detention for over one month now, but due to our love for him and what he represents not only in our community but Mbaise in general, we his subjects, village heads, men, women, youths and the Eze-in-Council have been calling for his release; every official statement must come from us.
They however pleaded the state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma to use his good office and intervene in the matter, to ensure that Eze Leo Nwokocha whom have been vindicated by the confessions of his accuser and as well testified by his people to being Innocent.

“We therefore, humbly plead with our Amiable Governor Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma to ignore the content of such Facebook posts as they do not represent the minds of our people”
“We also equally and humbly beseech our cherished governor as “Ezienyi Mbaise” to show us more fatherly love by using his veto power to effect the unconditional release of our dear traditional ruler, Eze Leo Nwokocha from Police custody”
