Danger: Trouble Looms as Ogbaru Oil Producing Communities Threatens to Shutdown Oil Wells
The people of oil producing communities in Ogbaru local government of Anambra State have threaten to take their destiny in their hands to get their due dividends from oil companies operating in their locality.
According to some of the residents of Ogwuipele and Oguaniocha communities, the situation of where Sterling Global Oil Resource Limited is currently carrying out massive laying of pipeline and prospective oil exploration in their community is devastating.
Critical check on their environment tells of a neglected people and obvious need for quick intervention by the oil company to savage the situation before it gets out of hands cannot be overemphasized.

The angered youths led by the Chief Consultant of HOSTCOM Anambra State Chapter, Chief Obizoba Chiemelu, in a rowdy demonstration said there is no going back from their decision to seek and claim their rights while calling on Sterling Oil company and other oil multinational companies dealing in the state to consider the well being of their host communities and avail them their due benefits.
They also call for environmental assessment and signing of a workable memorandum of understanding between the host communities and the Oil companies in best interest of their businesses.
The people lamented that certain highly placed Nigerians are feeding fat on them, the group alleged that Former Minister of Aviation, Mrs Kema Chikwe and the Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo are responsible for their woes, and demand that the duo in their capacity as key stakeholders in Sterling Global call the handlers of the oil company to order and ensure they do what is right before things gets out of hand.

Recall that sterling global had since 2016 commence oil exploration in Ogupele community with nothing to show as dividends of oil proceeds including the stipulated 13% percent oil derivation for oil producing communities has never come them, no MOU signed no environmental assessment made, they condemn the actions in its totality and vow to fight to the end to change the narrative.
Effort made to contact authorities of the oil company to get their views on the development prove abortive as none of their representative number could be reached.

Further steps taken to contact the Former Minister of Aviation, Mrs Kema Chikwe to bare her mind proved abortive as she was said to be out of the country.
Speaking earlier in an interview with journalists at his office in Awka, the state capital, the Chief Consultant of HOSTCOM, Chief Obizoba Chiemelu describe the action of all oil multinational companies operating in the state as evil and inhuman.

Chief Chiemelu stressed that Sterling Global Oil and other companies making money at the detriment of the lives of others without any form of compensation is the highest level wickedness and the oil producing communities under his watch will no longer tolerate the injustice meted on the people adding that they have resolve to do so with all it takes.

The oil landlords under the leadership of Obizoba and youths vow to discontinue the wickedness of the oil companies operating in the state soonest.
