Liverpool qualified for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 after pipping Napoli 1-0 on match day six in Group C, reports.
Mohammed Salah scored the only goal of the encounter in the 34th minute after he skipped past Kalidou Koulibaly in the box before nutmegging David Ospina in goal for Napoli.
Both Liverpool and Napoli finished on nine points but the Reds scored more goals than the Italian team in the Champions League Group C.
Liverpool finished second in the group behind Paris Saint-Germain who defeated Red Star Belgrade 4-1 away.
Goals from Edinson Cavani, Neymar Jnr, Marquinhos and Mbappe ensured Marko Gobeljic goal was not enough for Red Star to salvage a spot in the round of 32 in the UEFA Europa League.
In Champions League Group B, Barcelona finished as group leaders following their 1-1 home draw with Tottenham Hotspur at Camp Nou.
Ousmane Dembele scored the opener in the first half but Lucas Moura struck an equaliser in the 85th minute to send Spurs through on a superior goal scored ahead of Inter Milan who was held to a 1-1 draw by PSV.
Hirving Lozano gave PSV an early lead in the 13th minute but Mauro Icardi drew Inter Milan level in the 73rd minute. The result sees the Nerazzurri drop to the UEFA Europa League.
In group A, Borussia Dortmund defeated Monaco 2-0 to finish top of the log. A goal from Raphael Guerreiro in each half secured a fourth win for the German side in the group stage of the competition.
The other group game involving Club Brugge and Atletico Madrid ended goalless draw.
