Bob Njemanze VS Eze Okeke And 28 Imo Traditional Rulers: FCT Abuja High Court Fixes Nov. 20 For Hearing ||| NEWS CORNER
A high court sitting in the Federal capital territory, Abuja has fixed November 20, 2024 for hearing on a matter before it with the suit No: FCT/HC/CV/1992/2024 following the relief granted to Prince Bob Njemanze, an elder statesman in Imo and the plaintiff by the high court that Eze E. C. Okeke; Chairman Imo Council of Traditional Institution and Community Policing and other Traditional rulers in Imo, who are the defendants would be served the originating processes to wit, writ of summons, statement of claim and all other processes in the suit on all the defendants being resident in Owerri Imo state outside the jurisdiction of the honourable court.
The granting of Prince Bob Njemanze’s relief through his lawyers in Njemanze and Njemanze chambers was upon hearing the motion Ex-parte brought pursuant to order 43:2, rule 4 and 5, 7 and rule 11 of the High court of the Federal capital territory, Abuja( civil procedure Rules) 2018, and under the inherent jurisdiction of the honourable court dated 21st of June, 2024 and filed 25th of June, 2024.

The FCT Abuja High court also granted the relief of the Plaintiff declaring that the originating processes in the suit include the writ of summons and all other processes in the suit be served on the 1st to 3rd defendants by substituted means to wit, by delivering or pasting same at the usual place of business of the 1st -3rd defendants and respondents in Owerri and that the originating processes in the suit include the writ of summons and all other processes in the suit be served the 4th to 43rd defendants by substituted means to wit, by delivering or pasting same at the usual place of business of the 4th – 33rd defendants of Imo state council of Traditional Institution and Community Policing at their secretariat in Owerri.
It should be recalled that the Traditional rulers had made publications in the Newspapers and airing same in the electronic media where they had declared Prince Bob Njemanze, an elder statesman ostracized from the society referring to his remark during the Imo stakeholders meeting with the Inspector General of police in Owerri last year, an action the plaintiff considered as damaging to his reputation to which he is demanding N5B from the defendants for the damages in the Abuja FCT High Court.
