ASSOTU Lays Down Conditions Over 2027 Imo Governorship Seat

By Chinedu Max Egere…

The Association of Owerri Town Unions (ASSOTU), Port-Harcourt has resolved to lend her unflinching support to a credible candidate for Imo 2027 governorship seat and this, according to the association, would not be influenced by the person’s political party.

This was one of ASSOTU’s resolutions at their meeting in Owerri last week presided over by the President-General of the Association, Engr Dr. Jude Obichere.

ASSOTU resolved that the key factor that would attract her support is the credibility of the candidate, not the political party he belongs to.

ASSOTU is a Non- partisan, Non -governmental and Non -political organisation that covers the three local government areas in Owerri federal Constituency which are Owerri North, Owerri West and Owerri Municipal.

ASSOTU was founded in Port Harcourt and Bayelsa about 45 years ago and registered under Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and it has been noted to be a strong voice of Owerri Federal Constituency.

In attendance were some Presidents-General and Secretaries- General as well as representatives of some communities among who include Ezinwa Joe Ihenacho of Obibiezena; Nelson Nnadi of Azaraubu Emekuku; Ejike Osunwa; Mr Lordson of Nekede; Chiedo Nnaemeka of Obinze; Ben Onyegbule; Chief Val Onyeukwu, one of the founding members, Miss Favour Onyema, Mr Alex Uche and others.
