Appeal Court Upholds the Election of Dr. Paschal Chigozie Obi

The Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri the Imo State capital has reaffirmed the victory of Honourable Dr. Paschal Obi, the House of Representatives Member Representing Ideato North / Ideato South Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Health Institutions.

In a brief judgment delivered on Friday 1st November 2019, the court dismissed the appeal brought before it by the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC Honourble Austin Chukwukere saying that it lacks merit in its entirety.

The Court in her wisdom upheld the judgment of the Election Petitions Tribunal which earlier confirmed that Dr. Paschal Obi of the Action Alliance party, AA genuinely won the February 23rd, 2019 National Assembly Election held in Ideato Federal Constituency.

The judgment has put to rest several months of legal battle instituted by the opposition parties especial the All Progressives Congress Candidate Honourable Austin Chukwukere who came second in the election.
