Anambra Guber: Ihedioha Celebrates Soludo, Describes Victory As Triumph of Resilience, Democracy

The former Governor of Imo state, Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has felicitated with the Governor-elect of Anambra state in the just concluded guber elections in the state.
Hon. Ihedioha who sent his congratulatory message through his media aide, Chubuike Onyeukwu, emphasized that Soludo’s victory is a clear Triumph of resilience and democracy while urging magnanimity.

Ihedioha commended the good people of Anambra state for participating actively in the electoral process at the polls and ensuring their votes counted while expressing gratitude to the Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Valentine Ozigbo for strongly leading the party beyond distractions and daunting challenges.
“Worthy of commendation is the resilience of the electorate – Ndi Anambra – who resisted efforts to compromise their conscience and unequivocally expressed their preference for their choice candidate”
“The outcome of the Anambra State governorship election has again, proven that power belongs to God and dispensed at the pleasure and for the good of the people”

The former Governor also commended the excellent conduct of the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a free and fair election by introducing the Biometric Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) as well as the unrelenting efforts of security agents during the exercise to ensure there is no breakdown of peace and order.
“Many of us, keenly followed the processes of this election and i daresay that, our democratic process is indeed improving. May I therefore, commend the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) for the introduction of Biometric Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) and urge them to improve on it and other innovations to ensuring a more credible process”
“May I importantly, commend in a special way, the various security agencies for their highly professional conduct throughout the process”
Ihedioha urged both the Governor elect and the co-contestants to come together as one body to work for the progress of Anambra state as already shown in their spirit of sportsmanship and patriotism by congratulating Prof. Soludo on his victory.
He added that the victory is not only for the people of Anambra but for the entire South East geopolitical zone hence advised sustenance of the good spirit and conduct that characterized the election.
“I am delighted to note that, in the spirit of sportsmanship and patriotism, most of the candidates of other political parties in the contest have called to congratulate Prof. Soludo on his victory. I wish to urge him to be magnanimous in victory and take steps also to reach out to his co-contestants for the good of the State”
“Once more, I commend the spirit. It is the spirit that should pervade our polity, especially the Southeast. This victory is not for Anambrarians alone, but for our region and democracy”.
