2023: Surveyed 3,973 Nigerians by Bloomberg Shows The Outcome Of 2023 Presidential Election –Hon. Amadichi
Following the widespread Presidential Opinion Poll conducted by an Independent Survey Organization, Bloomberg on 28th September 2022 into the 2023 electioneering, the Labour Party and Chairman Diaspora Committee of the party, Hon. Chibuike Amadichi has applauded the organization for conducting the polls to ascertain the popular demand of the people and setting the records straight.
Responding in a Live Television programme by IBrandTV, Hon. Amadichi stated that the poll which projected the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi with 72 percent of the whole poll is mainly on merit as the people clearly showed their candidate of interest and not a result of the party, candidates, or anyone lobbying for the poll result.
Hon. Amadichi said, “We don’t know those behind the polls, because they are Independent people, so nobody lobbied them from the party; nobody lobbied them from Peter Obi’s Presidential campaign team because they are purely Independent opinion poll and they came up with the result…”
“Nigerians are impressed because the 2023 election is people-oriented election and not really political-oriented election”
The Labour Party Diaspora Affairs Chairman reiterated that the opinion polls show how happy Nigerians are to have Peter Obi and Ahmed Datti come on board as the President and Vice come 2023 owing to the fact that the Labour party candidates discuss issues and how to better the country and not attacking candidates of other parties as had been the narrative, noting that it is not all about promises but how to deal with the identified problems.
“The people are impressed that so far their voice are being heard and we are going to maintain the momentum and we look forward that the number or percentage is going to increase as we push further”
“…and as we commence campaigning, we will start dealing with issues because our campaigns are issue based as we are not going there to talk about candidates of people. We are coming to tell Nigerians what we are in for and what we are coming to do”
“It is not about promises but looking at where we are now and finding a way to come out of it. How do we deal with the issues”
He further stressed that there are many issues bedeviling the country over time due to lack of good leadership and governance hence 2023 is a golden time to restore the lost glory of the Giant of Africa by bringing to power a leader with capacity, competence and energy, adding that he is proud to be ‘Obidient’
“There are too many issues in Nigeria today that it appears that the leadership has failed us; the current leadership has failed us. Leadership we have had over the years has failed us and I think 2023 elections will is a defining moment that Nigerians need to take advantage and elect a leader that have the capacity, competency and energy and I am so proud of my candidate that have shown that indeed he is a leader to reckon with….that in less than a month, he has traveled to over seven (7) countries meeting Nigerians in Diaspora and I’m proud to also head the Diaspora chapter of this whole project because Nigerians in Diaspora crave for a new Nigeria that works that they can easily come back to invest in Nigeria”, He concluded.
According to the opinion poll, a clear majority of respondents said they intend to vote for Peter Obi in the Presidential election scheduled for February.
The results of the survey conducted for Bloomberg News by Premise Data Corp. were published on Wednesday as the official campaign to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari kicked off.
Of the 92% of participants who said they’ve decided how to vote, 72% named Obi as their first choice. Of those who are still unsure, 45% said the 61-year-old is their preferred candidate.
“The candidates of the two parties that have ruled Nigeria since the restoration of democracy in 1999 fared less well. Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress garnered 16% of decided voters and 23% of those yet to make up their minds. Atiku Abubakar of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party tallied 9% and 17% respectively”
The San Francisco-headquartered data company surveyed 3,973 Nigerians from September and Respondents to the app-based poll were selected from quotas developed by age, gender and location across the country’s six geopolitical zones.
