OWERRI — Nijazone.com, a new e-commerce retail platform designed to connect farmers and artisans to buyers worldwide, will officially launch in Owerri on Friday, May 1, 2026, with a strong focus on empowering rural communities across Imo State.

The launch event is scheduled for 10:00 AM at the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) Hall, beside Imo Concorde hotel, Owerri. Entry is free and open to the public.

According to organizers, Naijazone aims to bridge the gap between rural producers and the global market by enabling local farmers, artisans, and small businesses to sell their goods online without leaving their communities. The platform promises to digitize local commerce and create direct income opportunities for producers in remote areas.

A major highlight of the launch will be a live demonstration of the platform’s speed and efficiency. Attendees will place real-time orders for farm-fresh produce such as tomatoes and chicken using their mobile phones, with dispatch riders set to deliver the items to the event stage in under 20 minutes.

In addition to market access, Nijazone is rolling out immediate economic opportunities for young people. The company announced 200 job openings for delivery riders and sales agents in Imo State. The first 100 participants at the launch will also receive free branded T-shirts.

“Rural producers have the quality, but not always the reach,” a company spokesperson said. “Nijazone gives them a global storefront. Your Market, Your World is not just our slogan — it’s our commitment to every farmer and artisan in Imo.”

According to the organizers, interested participants and vendors can register for free online stores at the event or visit www.nijazone.com for more information. The following number was also provided for inquiries: 070 6221 5059.
