One Feared Dead as Cultists Attack Inspector of Police, Vigilantee Members in Rivers

Hoodlums in Omudioga Community, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State on Saturday, 7th July, attacked and shot a Vigilantee member as well as stabbed a Police Inspector working with the Vigilantee group.

According to an eye witness who pleaded anonymity, a vigilantee group in the community at exactly 10:31am went to arrest a notorious cultist in the area identified to be of Iceland cult whose name is “Nagode” and in the process his fellow cultists numbering about fourty came to his rescue with rifles, axes and matchets.

In

the heat of the counter attack, one of the cultists popularly known as Onye Amuma (prophet) armed with G3 rifle shot a vigilantee member known as Amadioha in the stomach and he was rushed to hospital Bmh Port Harcourt.

Reacting to the incident, the Chairman Constitution Drafting Committee, Barrister Chikwere Ogbugo said the gangsters have continued to disturb the peace of the community hence the move to arrest them and make them face the book.

Barrister Ogbugo added that the shot Vigilantee member is currently responding to treatment at the hospital.
