Obowo lawmaker, Ibeh drums support for Gov Uzodimma …Says his reelection will ensure continuity
By CHINYERE Nnaemeka…

A former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and 3rd time legislator representing Obowo State Constituency in the state House, Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh, has hinted on the need for Governor Hope Uzodimma to be returned the second time, saying that it will be to the benefit of Imolites.
Ibeh stated this on Sunday, at Umuokeh in Obowo LGA, in the state, while appreciating the people of Obowo, and some executives of the All Progressive Congress, APC in the Local Government Area, for throwing their weight behind him in the last election.
While lauding the people, for always supporting him with his election bid from 2008 till date, noted that it is time once again for them to support him in ensuring that not just Obowo people, but Imolites continues to enjoy the dividend of democracy by coming out en mass to ensure the reelection of a ‘great leader God has blessed the state with’.
Governor Uzodimma, he said, has done well in the state, and deserves to be commended seeing the grave challenges; the COVID 19 pandemic, EndSARs saga, Insecurity, among others he faced on assumption of office, but still stood tall with accomplishing his 3R Mantra.
Ibeh continued that the governor has executed many projects in the state, adding that many others are still in progress.
The reelection of the governor, he said, will ensure that the projects; especially the road constructions are not stopped half way, which according to him, has always been the case when a new Government takes over.
According to him, “The reason why we don’t have too much time to rest, is because Imo is on a journey that commenced 2019, when Senator Hope Uzodimma was given to Imo people by God. Not too long after he assumed office as the Governor of the state, there was this upsurge of insecurity, and many others, and I have sat down to ask myself – if not for the person of Senator Hope Uzodimma, I wonder what would have happened to the state and it’s people looking at the kind of things that happened then.
“It took a man of courage, sagacity, competence like the governor to Institute a means that addressed and tackled the insecurity challenges, and others.
“So I am here to assure you that the government of the day in Imo State, under the able leadership of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma is on the right course towards the prosperity of the state.
“If that is the case, it will be negative, an abortion of a process if the governor is not returned the second time.
“I do not believe in propaganda, blackmailing, as it is not my political style for those who have known me over time, I believe in campaigning, taking the campaign to the grassroots and explaining to the people the importance of a particular candidate, and how voting that candidate will translate to the improved well being of our people.
“So I have come to tell you that it will be retrogressive if His Excellence Senator Hope Uzodimma is not returned the second time. His coming back will allow for continuity; they have starting constructing the road from Owerri coming to Umuahia, they have gotten to Mbaise, if someone else becomes the governor, he may decide to look away from it, saying that it is a Federal road, and then the construction will not get to Obowo people.
“So if not for any other thing but for this road construction, let Obowo people vote for the governor, so we can as well benefit what others have benefited. There is nothing like continuing as it brings seamlessness.
“So it will be in the best interest of the state and all of us to ensure smooth transition of this Government.
“The Charter of Equity has been inaugurated, where credible personalities in the state have sat to say – let’s organize this by allowing Orlu Zone to complete their eight years, and after that another Zone can take over for another eight years, and it goes on like that, than when people are fighting, killing themselves and wasting money just to win an election,’ Ibeh stated.
Adding there voices, the Dr. Raymond Emerenini; 3time Obowo LGA Chairman, Mrs Matilda Okafor; Obowo APC Chairman, Hon Justice Anaebo; a leader in the party, Chief Francis Ihechere, another leader, Samuel Okafor; Chairman of all Chairmen, all took turns in assuring the lawmaker of throwing their weight behind him in ensuring that the governor is reelected.
Also present in the meeting were – Honourable Commissioner Imo State House of Assembly, 22 President Generals of the 22 autonomous communities, ably led by the PG of all PGs, Hon. Donatus Agwuocha, Coordinators and Women Leaders of 100% Votes led by their Director General, Hon.
