Nwangele LGA Smiles …As Edith Nwosu empowers small scale business owners

Edith Nwosu a renowned philanthropist and oil magnet through her Ikuku Oma foundation empowered rural women, youths, men from Nwangele Local Government Area, Imo State, as a support to small-scale business owners.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the event in Owerri, on Saturday, the founder of Ikuku Oma Empowerment Club, Hon. Edith Nwosu said the cardinal objective of the foundation is to increase productivity in Nwangele Local Government Area.

She noted that to improve 20 small skill enterprises as to give what she called business support fund of N 50,000 cash for 20 small-scale enterprises.

Edith said, ” for me I’m doing in my own little way, I want to increase productivity no matter how small. And, this period of season we are entering like I told you people this morning, I am hoping that in any small way you add this money to your market to make little profit.

“This is what is all about human development, this is what Edith Nwosu stand for, 20 people from each Ward across Nwangele are empowered with N50,000, to add to your business”. She stated.

She commended Eze Ononenyi Uzoma, Etiti 11 of Etiti Afor, Eze Ndi Eze of Nwangele, Eze Collins Otumbadi Onuoha from Amaimo, Prof. Protus Nathan Uzoma, Pro. Vitalis Orikaeze Ajumbe, Prof. C. N. Agbegbu, Chief Lasbery Njoku, NYC State Charman Humphrey Nwaso – Eze elect, Chief Dona Nwaogu, Barr. Stan Chike Ofomba, for their presence in Ikuku Oma Empowerment Club ceremony.

Also speaking, Prof. Protus Nathan Uzoma, said that the founder of Ikuku Oma Empowerment Club has replicated what her name implies, noting she has done well despite the economic situation she was able to encourage small-scale business owners in Nwangele.

He disclosed Hon. Edith Nwosu have demonstrated that many lives will go out from economic challenges, advised the beneficiaries to ensure they use the money giving to them judiciously as he urged other Imolites to emulate Ikuku Oma Empowerment Club who has empowered the youths and women.


Lending his voice, Barr. Stan Chike Ofomba, Secretary Nwangele Local Government Area, described Hon. Edith Nwosu as his beloved sister and thanked God for using Ikuku Oma foundation to empower the less privileged in the society.

He commended her doggedness at this hard time of Nigeria economic situation, quite often than not ‘ you heard about foundations floating on the air but Ikuku Oma foundation is real, practical, saying he is satisfied of what she’s doing and prayed that God will continue to sustain her in this wonderful endeavor.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Chinyere Okwara, thanked the Ikuku Oma Empowerment Club for the gesture promised to use the money wisely and prayed God’s blessings on Hon. Edith Nwosu.

Earlier, Eze Ononenyi Uzoma, Etiti 11 of Etiti Afor, Nwangele, expressed happiness for what God has been using Ikuku Oma foundation to touch lives of men, women, and youths in the community says charity begin’s at home.

He recalled that Ikuku Oma Empowerment Club have frequently embarked on series of empowerment programs ranging from free medical out reach, student’s scholarship, free eye glasses to aged men, women, cash donations for market women through Ikuku Oma cooperative, described the gesture as wonderful what of emulation.
