Mother of Renowned Educationist, Dr. Gabriel Onyekuru Laid To Rest

Christians have been urged to closely examine their lives on earth as well as live up to their calling so they can give good accounts of their lives on the last day.

The Parish Priest of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Umualumaku Uzoagba, Ikeduru, Venerable Sabastine Igbokwe gave the charge in a requiem mass of Late Ezinne Maria Onyekuru in her home town.

Venerable Igbokwe in his homily harped the need for Christian faithfuls to do good at all times stressing that happy are those who die in the service of God.
He described the late Ezinne Maria Onyekuru as a devot Christian mother who served God and humanity with love and pureness of heart adding that the deceased always stand for the truth and defended all around her with the truth.

The Reverend Father called on Christian faithfuls to borrow a leaf from the legacies late Ezinne Maria Onyekuru left behind.
The First Son of the Deceased, Mr Michael Onyekuru who described his late mother as a special mother in his tribute said the news of his mother’s death has remained a big shock to him and the entire Onyekuru family.
Mr Michael noted that late Ezinne Maria impacted a lot to him and his children.

“She was a blessing to all and I pray for your gentle soul to rest in the bosom of the Lord until the resurrection morning when we shall meet to part no more.”
Speaking to News Corner Crew, the Second Son of Late Ezinne Maria Onyekuru, Dr. Gabriel Onyekuru said his mother was the best in the world and will continue to miss her, her love, support and rare qualities.
In his words, “Words are not enough to describe your God-given attributes. Simply, you were the best mother. You were the strongest support to your husband, children, relatives and friends.”

“You might have passed on, but you have left indelible footprints in the sands of time. You were proud of us all.Until that last day, when the trumpet shall sound; and all of us shall sing Alleluia with the angels and saints in heaven together. Good bye Mammy!”, Dr. Onyekuru added.
The Chairperson of the Catholic Women Organization of Holy Ghost Catholic Church Umualumaku Uzoagba, Ikeduru, Mrs Scholastica Okpara described the late Ezinne Maria Onyekuru as a peace loving woman who works for unity in all she does saying that she was crowned “Ezinne” in the church because of her exceptional and worthy christian lifestyle.
Mrs Scholatisca called on christian faithfuls especially women to emulate the exemplary life of the deceased to be good at all times, encourage members of their families to always stand by the truth as well as prepare for eternity, adding that good life pays.
Friends of Dr Gabriel nationwide, dignitaries, government representatives and well wishers among whom is the Honourable member representing Ikeduru in the Imo State House of Assembly, Ambassador Uche Ogbuagu stormed the area to commiserate with Dr. Gabriel Onyekuru and family over the death and burial of their mother, late Ezinne Maria Onyekuru (nee Iwuamadi) who until her death at 85, was a devot and peaceful Catholic faithful.

Late Ezinne Maria Onyekuru is survived by two sons, a daughter, grand children and a host of other relations.
