Minister Uzoka-Anite Receives Finnish Ambassador, Seeks Stronger Bilateral Cooperation
The Honourable Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, CFA, on Friday, July 17, 2026, received Her Excellency Sanna Selin, Ambassador of Finland to Nigeria, at the Ministry in Abuja. The meeting focused on deepening bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Finland across priority sectors that drive inclusive and sustainable growth.

Dr. Uzoka-Anite and Ambassador Selin discussed potential areas of collaboration including trade expansion, technological innovation with emphasis on ICT and digitalization, renewable energy, and human capital development. Both parties expressed commitment to leveraging each country’s strengths to create mutually beneficial partnerships.

The Minister reaffirmed the Renewed Hope Administration’s commitment to building a diversified, resilient, and competitive economy in line with the Nigeria Agenda 2050. She emphasized that strategic reforms and targeted investments remain central to achieving long-term national prosperity.

Dr. Uzoka-Anite further noted that partnerships with development-oriented nations such as Finland are essential to realizing these objectives. She expressed optimism that the strengthened relationship will yield tangible outcomes in job creation, innovation, and sustainable development for Nigerians.
