Imo Students, others to Benefit from De Imperial Philanthropic Family Scholarship …as foundation Holds Qualifying Exam
By Grace Ofurum…

Students from Imo and other South-Eastern states are set to benefit from a scholarship program initiated by the De Imperial Philanthropic Family. This was announced by the Imo State coordinator of the foundation, Mr. Eric Nnaemeka Orji, during the scholarship’s qualifying examination held in Owerri last weekend.
Mr. Orji explained that the scholarship is open to students entering Junior Secondary School 1 (JSS 1) from the five South-Eastern states of Nigeria. Fifty (50) successful candidates from each state will be awarded the scholarship based on their performance in the exam.
The scholarship package covers the full payment of tuition fees from junior through senior secondary school, as well as the costs for the Junior and Senior WAEC exams and the JAMB exams.
According to Mr. Orji, the primary aim of the program is to combat poverty through education. He described the De Imperial Philanthropic Family as a group of elite individuals from the Southeast who are committed to reducing poverty by providing educational support to underprivileged students.
He highlighted that the current economic challenges in Nigeria have contributed to high illiteracy rates, making it necessary for organizations like theirs to step in and assist the government in providing quality education.
Mr. Orji also noted that the foundation’s efforts are a way of giving back to society and helping parents afford secondary education for their children. He confirmed that this is the second edition of the scholarship and expressed the foundation’s intention to expand its reach in the future to support even more students across Nigeria.
In closing, Mr. Orji urged other well-meaning Nigerians to contribute to the education of the younger generation, emphasizing that such support will foster national growth and development.
