Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation Warn Against Illegal Construction, Dredging Activities at Otamiri Headworks, Says Defaulters to Face The Law

The Management of Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation has warned that all illegal construction and dredging activities within and around the Otamiri Headworks of the Owerri Regional Water Scheme be stopped with immediate effect as defaulters will be made to face the full weight of the law forthwith.
ISWSC Management stated this in a release made known to the public by the Head of Communications in the corporation, Mrs Okorie Assumppta on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.
According to the release, the State Water and Sewerage corporation noticed with dismay the encroachment into Public Water Supply facilities and illegal land appropriation within such facilities in spite of warnings by the State Government.
“The current illegal construction and dredging activities within and around the Otamiri Headworks of the Owerri Regional Water Scheme is posing existential threat to the multi-billion naira facility”
“Those involved in these destructive activities are once again warned to desist from such acts as full weight of the law will be visited on them. To be fore warned is to be fore armed”
