Imo Police Flags- Off Operation Puff Adder to Contain Crime

To ensure safe society, the Imo State Police Command, has officially flagged off “Operation Puff Adder, a tight and super intelligence security details, designed to fighting crime.
This feat was achieved few days after the Inspector General of Police- Mohammed Adamu Abubakar, officially launched Operation Puff Adder which was adopted by the Assistant Inspector- General of Police in charge of Zone 9 Police Headquarters, AIG Tijani Baba who flagged off the Operation in Umuahia, Abia State, on 17th April, 2019.
Launching the Operation Puff Adder at the Police Headquarters, Owerri, on Tuesday, Imo state Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Ladodo, explained that operation Puff Adder ” is an operational strategy launched by the Inspector- General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu Abubakar on 5th of April, 2019 along the Kaduna/ Abuja Highway as a result of incessant kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent crime on that road”.
According to the IGP, during a meeting involving top police officers at Abuja, instructed them to launch the operation Puff Adder to stem crimes in all the zones. While charging all Field Commanders of this operation including Area Commmanders, Divisional Police Officers and Ractical Team Commanders to carry out the order professionally and with human face to achieve results, Ladodo advised that officers must work hand in glove with Force Order 237, ensure strict and absolute respect for rule of law and humanity in their quest to ensure that justice prevails at all times.
The CP called on the public to work with police while providing useful and urgent information to them to nip crime to the board. Police appealed to parents to guide their children properly to avoid violent crime.
