Imo House Member Ogbuagu Host, Charge Imo AGN Executives To Promote Unity, Self Reliance of Members

On Tuesday, February 2, 2021 the Member representing Ikeduru State Constituency at the Imo House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Uche Ogbuagu hosted and received in audience, the newly elected executives of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) at his palatial country home in Akabo, Imo State.

The respected lawmaker and foremost entertainer turned consummate politician in the State felicitated with the new excos on their elections, but noted that the successful poll was not without its own challenges.

Hon. Ogbuagu being originally an actor, ace comedian and media executive, expressed his love for the guild and willingness to help it attain greater heights.

He preached unity and tasked the new executives to work towards assuaging the perceived grievances of those members who lost at the polls, by carrying them along in the scheme of things.

The renowned lawmaker also advised the new AGN elected guild excos to promote the self reliance of members through feasible projects.

Earlier on, leader of the delegation and Chairman of AGN Imo State, Lady Nneoma Ukpabi recounted the longstanding relationship between the guild and Hon. Ogbuagu which according to the Chairman, had spanned about a decade.

Comrade Ukpabi relived her first experience of government support for the guild while she first served as Acting Chairman of the Guild.

She recollected among several things, the death and burial of late veteran Sam Loco Efe and how Uche Ogbuagu then Special Assistant to the Imo State Governor played prominent roles, and ensured Imo was properly and regally represented at that event.

Nneoma Ukpabi reeled out her activity plans for the year to include the new excos inauguration dinner; premier launch of the first ever AGN cinematic film; massive COVID-19 awareness programmes involving street shows and give away.

The guild chairman and screen diva assured the lawmaker that the new administration was out to make and distribute back-to-back films to expose and empower members.

In his own remarks, the Ikeduru born first Chairman of AGN Imo State, Sir Lambert Nnorom Jr. extolled the many virtues of Hon. Uche Ogbuagu and praised him for being the first Imo government appointee to facilitate the traveling of Imo artistes abroad for self improvement.

He appealed for the lawmaker’s continued assistance to ensure the success of the guild.
