Imo Guber: I am not a Placeholder For Anybody -Samdaddy Declares, Inaugurates Campaign Council

The gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 11 governorship election, Senator Samuel Anyanwu has emphasized his resolve to wrestle power from the incumbent beyond expectations.
Senator Anyanwu popularly known as Samdaddy stated this at the inauguration of his campaign council on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the state party secretariat, Owerri.
He stated that Imo state is not working in almost all the sectors of the economy, especially the security sector where “people can no longer sleep with their two eyes closed”, adding that Douglas House became empty on 29 May 2023.
Samdaddy who traced the root cause of insecurity to unemployment frowned at the manner the state government plays lip service to engaging the youths and chasing shadows as the causes, noting that the Local government system which ought to be working as the closest tier of government to actively engage the people is not in place.
“The GDP of the state has almost died to almost N400 billion naira unlike what it used to be because people are not investing. Nobody wants to come to Imo and invest again because of safety”
The guber hopeful assured Imo people of a resonating return of peace, security, employment, and healthcare among other dividends of democracy so as to set Imo back on track as one of the best states in South East and Nigeria at large.
“This land will be safe again. I am a general who leads the war, I fear nobody, and nobody can do me anything. Do not be afraid, I know where I am coming from”
“I am not concerned about making myself rich or all worth not. I have only come to return power to the People”
“I want to stop the bloodletting in this state, as I can hear the cries of the innocent killed in this state. The bloodletting is too much and the end is November 11, 2023”
Senator Anyanwu however urged Imolites to go out and vote, adding that their votes will be highly protected, noting that he is prepared to run the race to finish.
He charged the inaugurated members to tighten their seat belts as the race had just begun,
“I am not a placeholder hence I have toured the whole LGAs in the state, let them go and do the same”
“Go and vote and leave the rest for me. Your votes will count”
In his speech at the inauguration, the former State Chairman of SDP who is the Secretary of Sam Jones Campaign Council, Prince Marshal Uche Okoroanyanwuo frowned at the long-term tenure of Orlu zone, stating that equity ought to be the watchword for leadership in Imo.
He stressed that it is the turn of Owerri zone to govern the state hence he will go wherever Sam Jones goes.
The former Commissioner for Science and Technology in the state, Emma Bukar, at the occasion revealed that the members of Rescue Mission are behind the guber aspiration of Samdaddy, adding that Former Imo governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha as well as Senator Ararume are working assiduously for the emergence of Senator Anyanwu.
