Imo Govt Debunks Reports of Grazing Reserve Arrangement With CBN Governor ||| NEWS CORNER
ThankGod Emeh, OWERRI.
The media office of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has debunked news making rounds in the media that the Governor met with Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele to finalize plans of grazing reserve in the state, describing it as total falsehood.
The Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to the Governor, Oguwike Nwachuku made this known in a release issued on Monday, August 31, 2020.
According to the release, “The attention of the Office of the Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has been drawn to a fake report suggesting that His Excellency met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele and purportedly told him that Imo would be donating land to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture for the purposes of grazing”
Mr Nwachukwu said the report is an act of mischief makers and agents of underdevelopment in the state whose aim is to discredit the laudable achievements of Governor Uzodinma and CBN Governor.
He added that no meeting of such as referred in the false report took place.
“The report credited to the Office of the Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to the Governor the story is not only false and fake but mishievously done to discredit the Governor and the CBN Governor, Emefiele”
“While the Governor works so hard under the ravaging Covid-19 pandemic to reposition the State to be productive, some politically exposed irascible goons sit down somewhere to churn out stuff that are obviously aimed at disorienting Imo and putting the State under perpetual underdevelopment”
“No such meeting to the knowledge of the Office of the Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to the Governor took place to warrant the statement that was mishievously and criminally done by the authors of the fake report”
The CPS who expressed confidence in Governor Uzodinma led ‘Shared Prosperity’ government to deliver beyond expectations, noted that the public are being familiar with policies and programmes of Imo government by the day hence know fake news when it comes by.
“Much as the reading public are already familiar with the mindset of the persons whose stock in trade is to manufacture fake and gutter news, the Governor can never be deterred from his vision of recovering, rehabilitating and restructuring Imo from the clutches of those who want the State to remain in a state of pity while others are making steady progress. For the avoidance of doubt, Governor Uzodimma’s Shared Prosperity is real”
He advised Imolites to disregard the false information making rounds in its entirety and go about their businesses as Imo government is out to better the welfare of Imolites.
“Members of the public are therefore advised to ignore the piece as trash and to regard the authors as those who are not only mentally deranged but need to be pitied and better seen as never do wells who are so blinded to see those who have committed their time, energy and other resources to help them do well”
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser New/Electronic Media to Imo Governor, Amaka Okafor, while fielding questions on social media on authenticity of the reports said that any report or news of the Imo ‘Shared Prosperity’ government that is not posted on the official platforms of the government is totally false and never happened.
“If you didn’t see it on the official platforms Hope New and Electronic Media Center, Hope Uzodimma, Imo State New Media or my page: Nneamaka Okafor, it did not happen”
“Please let it be known that the Governor never visited the CBN Governor on his last trip and there has not been any discussion about a grazing reserve”
