Imo Community of Tampa Bay USA Gives Out N1m to 10 Students of Fed Poly Nekede Owerri

A cultural and humanitarian organization, Imo Community of Tampa Bay, Florida, USA, has given out the sum of 1million to 10 brilliant students of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, to encourage them on academic excellence.
Presenting the cheque to the students, Vice President of Imo Community of Tampa Bay, Florida, USA, Mr Emeka Eziakonwa, informed they were passionately moved to help some hardworking students of the School to meet their tuition and accommodation needs hence the academic viability of the citadel of learning, encouraging them to continue to study hard.
Eziakonwa, a native of Ngor-Okpala local government area, explained that Imo Community of Tampa Bay, Florida, USA is proud of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri hence it chose it as the first point of call for the financial empowerment , stressing that the organization has been organizing humanitarian programs to assist people beat poverty and vulnerability, emphasizing that they decided to give financial award annually to meritorious students so that they achieve quality education to enable them fight poverty to strengthen peace and comfort living.
According to him, “we came here to actualize what we have promised to do for ordinary brilliant students. Truly, we are Imo indigenes who live in Tampa Bay, Florida, USA who came together with the purpose of promoting our culture and tradition including supporting sound education.
“The Scholarship Scheme is one of the humanitarian gestures we have. We are primarily encouraging education among serious students to be able to fight hunger and we have plans to extend the program to other public Schools within Imo State. We are really focusing on education.
“We are Helping them pay their tuition, accommodation and other teething needs. At least, each student went home with a hundred thousand naira”.
Enjoining the beneficiaries to always work hard to live prosperously, Eziakonwa maintained that the President of Imo Community of Tampa Bay, Florida, USA, Dr Duke Maduagwu, was impressed of the humanitarian services the group renders to Imo indigenes both in the USA and Imo State and thanked the Federal Polytechnic Management for their open recognition.
Thanking the group for the gesture, Precious Anokuru C, on behalf of the beneficiaries of the Scholarship Award, “promised to maintain their academic excellence and standard”.
Commending Imo Community of Tampa Bay, Florida, USA for the gesture, Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, Engr Dr. Michael Arimanwa, said the beneficiaries of the Scholarship Award were selected based on their academic performance and charged them to encourage others to efficiently strive to excel proficiently and academically, assuring to keep in touch with the group always.
He reflected that the School needs ICT equipment, practical equipment for Engineering and other Science Courses to strengthen academic performance.
