FUTO VC’s Aide, Okereke Lauds Prof Orji On Fellowship Award By NIP
With profound joy, the Special Adviser to the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Hon. Okereke Godson Bishop, has congratulated Prof. C.E. Orji, the longest-serving Dean of Students Affairs at FUTO, for receiving an esteemed Fellowship Award by Nigerian Institute of Physics (NIP).


NIP bestowed the Award of Outstanding Scholar in Physics on Professor C. E. Orji at a Grand Celebration of Academic Excellence spectacularly held in Port-harcourt, the Rivers State capital, recently.

Okereke, an erudite scholar, while saluting the Awardee, through a release signed and made available to the media, in Owerri, on Tuesday, identified Prof. C.E. Orji as a sound mind whose academic excellence and prowess had helped greatly in shaping the nation’s education sector.
“This recognition is a testament to Professor Orji’s unwavering dedication to advancing Physics and his exceptional leadership. As Dean of Students Affairs, he has played a pivotal role in ensuring students’ welfare, promoting academic excellence and maintaining discipline within the University.

“His commitment to creating a conducive learning environment has earned him admiration from students and peers alike”, the SA to FUTO VC said.
He reflected that the award had sparked widespread celebration, with hundreds of student leaders from across Nigeria led by Hon. Okereke Godson C Bishop and the SA to FUTO Vice Chancellor on Students’ Union, attending the ceremony, who expressed their appreciation for Professor Orji’s outstanding service with enchanting songs, showcasing the impact of his leadership on the academic community.

Okereke recounted that Professor Orji’s academic journey began in 1992 as an Assistant Lecturer at FUTO, rose to become a Professor of Radiation and Biomedical Physics in 2016.
“This Fellowship Award is a fitting recognition of his contributions to Physics and Education. Notably, Professor Orji is currently a member of FUTO’s 13th Governing Council, providing strategic leadership and contributing to the University advancement.
“The NIP’s Fellowship Award is a prestigious recognition of Professor Orji’s dedication to Physics and Education. This achievement serves as an inspiration to academics and students alike, highlighting the importance of commitment, hard work, and leadership in achieving excellence.

“Again, congratulations to Professor C.E. Orji on your well-deserved Award! May it inspire continued excellence and service to the academic community, and may your contributions continue to shape the future of Physics and Education in Nigeria and beyond”, Okereke maintained.
