FedPolyNek’s Pharmaceutical Technology Department Resumes HND Programme
Among the numerous challenges facing the 9th Substantive Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede upon taking office, one significant issue was the ban on student admissions for the Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme in the Pharmaceutical Technology Department. During the NANS Courtesy Visit on Monday, 10th February 2025, Dr. Mrs. Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe commended the diligent Head of Department for Pharmaceutical Technology, whose well-articulated letters played a crucial role in advocating for the ban’s removal.

The Rector detailed how her office persistently engaged with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and other stakeholders over months, making numerous trips to Abuja to address this distressing situation for students. She expressed her personal anguish as a mother, understanding the hardship faced by students who completed their National Diploma (ND) but were unable to advance to the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program or switch to another course.
It was with great relief and joy that the Rector announced the receipt of a letter from NBTE just days ago, approving the resumption of admissions for the HND Program in Pharmaceutical Technology.
Our media crew has confirmed that HND students are now actively attending classes. As now in our slogan, “E’de play e’de show, e’go de show continually,” and we will continue to support and pray for our Rector of Grace.
