Egbu-Naze Road Contractor In Trouble …As Egbu Kingdom Intervenes In Abandoned Road Project At Timber Market …Embarks On Alternate Passage
By CHINEDU Max Egere…
Many more commendations from various quarters have come the way of the traditional ruler of Egbu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Eze Uchenna Mitchell Egbukole; the Works Committee of the Kingdom led by Sir Stephen Aribana; the Central Youth Council; the Central Vigilante Group led by Prince Eugene Orisakwe, the representative of the Eze, Hon. Chisom Maduagwu and others for their joint effort with the support of the entire kingdom towards self help approach that gave room to the alternate passage on the abandoned road project at the Timber Market ‘Ogbosisi’ situated along Egbu-Naze Road.
It should be recalled that Egbu Kingdom on several occasions have called on the government and the contractor handling the Road Project, Rudolf Construction company to do the needful on the poor road network, instead the road project was abandoned leaving the commercial activities in the Ogbosisi area paralyzed.
Around February 2022, the Kingdom through her revered Royal Father, Eze Egbukole had raised the alarm on what they saw as a shoddy work on the side of the contractor, Rudolf Construction company ltd. Also, in April 2022, the traders and industrialists in Ogbosisi area had groaned over the abandoned work by the contractor and the construction firm resumed work on the road only to dump it again which resulted in the cutoff of the road and it became impassable.
Report has said that Egbu Kingdom has spent reasonable amount of money on the ongoing project in a bid to make the road passable and to re-evoke the dead activities in the area.
The palliative self help measures are widely seen as a signal to the construction company, Rudolf to live up to her expectations in order to restore the failed commercial activities in the area by rounding off the project.
The bold steps taken by Egbu Kingdom have continued to receive kudos and the positive impacts made through such proactive measures felt by the public.
