Ahead Nov. 11 Guber Poll: Imo Former Governors Unite for LP candidate, Ukaegbu
Former Governors of Imo State have joined forces to ensure the victory of Comrade Joseph Ukaegbu (Ikenga Imo), the Labour Party candidate for the November 11 Governorship election in the state.
Rising from a joint meeting held in Owerri, Imo State capital, weekend, allies of former Governors Achike Udenwa, Ikedi Ohakim, Rochas Okorocha and Emeka Ihedioha resolved to support Joseph Ukaegbu.
Stakeholders at the parley expressed worry over the continuous blood-letting in Imo.
“After due diligence on the situation, we came to the conclusion that Ukaegbu was the best man for the top Imo job”, the Convener of the meeting, Hon. Chibuzor Oparah told newsmen, basing their claims on the fact that Ukaegbu had no political baggage and comes from the deprived Owerri zone.
Hon Oparah further stated that Stakeholders of past administrations would no longer sit on the fence and watch Imo soak in blood for another four years, hence the decision to adopt a credible and competent candidate and vote out the incumbent governor, Hope Uzodimma.
