Over 20 AA Members Defect to SDP In Imo

In the heart of Owerri Municipal Council, Imo state recently, a political gathering took place to further draw a new direction towards the next gubernatorial election in the state

The air was thick with anticipation as over 20 defectors from the Action Alliance (AA), including the former Chairman of the party, Elder Emeka Onwuemenyi and his vice, Orji Nneji, were set to be welcomed into the Social Democratic Party, SDP Imo state fold.

Elder Onwuemenyi who had been a dedicated servant in the AA, said he and his people decided to quit the party because it has lost focus.

“The Action Alliance I once believed in has become a vessel adrift, lacking focus and purpose”

Welcoming the defectors, the SDP Chairman Owerri Municipal, Hon. Ofoma Desmond thanked them for choosing the SDP as the beacon of hope for our great nation.

“Together, we will work tirelessly to ensure that the people of Owerri Municipal Council are liberated from the chains of misgovernance and disillusionment.”

Hon. Ofoma equally acknowledged the tireless efforts of the SDP state Chairman, Amb. Ifeanyi Henry Eluwa.

“Under his leadership, we have seen a transformation in our party, one that emphasizes unity, resilience, and forward-thinking strategies that can carry us to victory.”

”We are here to harmonize the SDP in Owerri municipal, where every ward in the municipality felt represented and empowered.

“Our strength lies in our unity. It is imperative for each and every one of you to take this message back to your wards. Encouraging our members to obtain their membership cards is crucial in solidifying our numbers and proving our commitment to this cause.” he said.
